When the city wakes up
and everyone rushes
to work or school,
when the sweet or difficult sleeps
binge eating and entertainment
leave the eyes open
and a heavy hangover,
I get drunk
I get drunk on beauty
because the pavements are full
of my loves,
so near and yet
thousands of light years
away
