I have you in my eyes

Are these chains
or threads from a ball of wool
that warm me
and give meaning to my life?
What is an overflowing river?
Is it a river
free to go wherever it likes
because it has no banks
or is it a disoriented mass of water?
And what if the sea had no shoreline?
Would it still be the sea
on a planet made of water?
Are these chains
or silken threads
that hold the fabric together
otherwise flaky?
And if I have not only you in my eyes
only you in my heart
always only you in my eyes

And if love were a political ideology
would it be a democracy
or a dictatorship?
