I found happiness
behind the sheets of a hovel,
I've seen hope winning
among the beds of a hospital,
I witnessed the beginning of a friendship
out of a furious quarrel,
I heard people speak gratitude
after a frugal and miserable meal,
in spite of insults and jeers
I have admired confidence,
in front of defeats and disappointments
I have discovered the strength of tenacity.
