When did I understand
that it would be you

I figured it out
when I held your hand
and we walked long the elm road.
There are no trees more beautiful than them
when their foliage is dense
and their leafy branches intertwines,
like our lives,
with their green colour
that inspires hope and joy,
like your voice does,
with their gentle and delicate leaves,
like your heart,
with their height
that almost reaches the sky,
like my soul
when I'm with you,
with their never ending logs,
like our first kiss
along the elm road.
