In the woods
where ivy plants
grow on trees,
the old tree,
that so many plants loved
throughout its long life,
realized that it was time for it
to be on its own.
Indeed, none of the plants
no longer wanted to embrace it
and love it.
The plants were upset
but the tree told them:
"Don't cry for me,
my dear ivy.
I loved you so much
that I've learned to feel the same way
just by looking at you
and even if you don't want me anymore
and even though I can't love you anymore
I will always love you
because I will love you with my eyes."
