Fruits are like lovers.
There is no best one.
We always want
a whole basketful
to choose from
and before we do
our mind
samples all the flavours.
When, at last,
we decide which one to eat,
there’s always something missing
that only the other fruits have.
But after all
it’s exactly this
that makes that moment unique.
After all, we’d get bored
of only eating one kind of fruit.

Il frutto

I frutti sono come amanti.
Non c’è mai il migliore.
Vorremmo sempre avere
il paniere pieno
per potere scegliere
e prima di scegliere
la nostra mente
assapora tutti i gusti.
Quando, infine,
decidiamo cosa mangiare,
ci manca sempre qualcosa
che solo gli altri frutti hanno.
Ma in fondo
è proprio questo
che rende quel momento unico.
Ci stancheremmo
di mangiare sempre un solo frutto.
