the Earth promised the lava,
“nobody must look at you
and you mustn't look at anyone.
I will keep you for me,
only for me,
you won't need anything
but me,
you mustn't have anything
but me.”
She locked her for years and years
deep inside her core,
happy prisoner
of a great love.
But time is a temptress
and passion
has a short life.
The volcano listened
to the lava's moans
and opened his mouth
to let her out
until the Earth
locked her up again.
It's always been like this
and even if her escape is short
under the Earth
the lava hatches
because without freedom
there's no love.

L'amore non è catene

“Ti amo così tanto
che sarai per sempre mia.”
promise la terra alla lava.
“Nessuno dovrà guardarti
e nessuno dovrai guardare.
Ti terrò con me,
solo per me,
non avrai bisogno di niente
se non di me,
non dovrai avere altro
se non me.”
La rinchiuse anni e anni
tra le sue viscere,
prigioniera felice
di un grande amore.
Ma il tempo è tentatore
e la passione
ha la vita breve.
Il vulcano ascoltò
i gemiti della lava
e aprì la bocca
per lasciarla uscire
finché la terra
non l’imprigionò di nuovo.
E’ così da sempre
e seppur breve è la sua fuga
sotto la terra
la lava cova
perché senza libertà
non c’è amore.
