what freedom is
and he answered
that to understand it
I had to become horizon.

where freedom
is not a mirage,
where dreams
don't hide,
because nobody
can ever get here
and if someone asks you
where freedom is
you may reply:
“There, where the horizon is
because no man can ever reach it.”

Cavalcando l'orizzonte

Ho chiesto all’orizzonte
cos’è la libertà
e mi ha risposto
che per capirlo
dovevo diventare orizzonte.
Sono salito su di lui
e mi ha portato
dove la libertà
non è un miraggio,
dove i sogni
non si nascondono
perché nessuno
può mai arrivare fino qui
e se qualcuno ti chiede
dov’è la libertà
rispondigli:
“Lì, dov’è l’orizzonte
perché nessun uomo
può mai raggiungerlo.”
