All day long on the balcony

You watch the world
from a railing
sometimes you even bark
in most cases it seems a howl
desperate

you wait for food and a pat on the head
a quick sniff
a voice that you think is friendly.
Hot or cold
rain or snow
you will always be a dog on a balcony.
I don’t understand
why you are there
and if I were you
I would have already thrown myself off.

Tutto il giorno in balcone
ogni giorno in balcone
tutta la notte in balcone
ogni notte in balcone
due tre brevi passeggiate
giusto per fare
e poi ancora in balcone
e sempre in balcone.
Guardi il mondo
da una ringhiera
qualche volta abbai pure
per lo più sembra un latrato
disperato
disperato
aspetti cibo e una carezza
un profumo di sfuggita
una voce che credi amica.
Caldo o freddo
pioggia o neve
sei sempre un cane da balcone.
Non capisco perché sei lì
e se fossi in te
mi sarei già buttato.
