Yesterday
as I was sleeping
I drew the sky.
I used pink
like the sunsets
that in childhood I was waiting for
so that I could fall asleep with them,
purple
like the clouds
that I ran after
when I was a boy,
red
like the roses that you liked,
I used blue
like the nights
when in youth I hold you,
yellow
like the sun
that illuminated our love
for a lifetime
and, in the end, grey
like the tears
that in old age
I have to shed
for not having you with me anymore.

I colori del cielo

Ieri
dormendo
ho disegnato il cielo.
Ho usato il rosa
come i tramonti
che da bambino aspettavo
per coricarmi con loro,
il viola
come le nuvole
che da ragazzo rincorrevo,
il rosso
delle rose che ti piacevano,
ho usato il blu
delle notti
in cui da giovane ti stringevo,
il giallo
come il sole
che di luce
ha illuminato
per tutta la vita
il nostro amore
e da ultimo il grigio
come le lacrime
che da vecchio
devo versare
per non averti più con me.
