I was born with two wings
but I don't know what they're for,
I tried to hop
but I only fell,
jump here jump there
jump down jump up,
my cage is very small
and I already have two legs.
I have this beak to eat with
and I have a swing to play on.
I am alone,
whom can I ask?
Whoever looks at me, amused,
doesn't realize that I'm crying.
I can open them,
are they a cloak?
Or maybe I can use them to sleep.

who can tell me why?
I have two wings that I can't use,

A che servono?

Con due ali sono nato
ma a che servono non so,
ho provato a saltellare
ma per terra son caduto,
salta qui salta là
salta giù salta su,
la mia gabbia è piccolina
e due zampe già ce l’ho.
Per mangiare ho questo becco
e per giocare un’altalena.
Sono solo,
a chi chiedo?
Chi mi guarda divertito,
non capisce se io piango.
Ad aprirle ci riesco,
serviranno da mantello?
O forse anche per dormire.
Sono solo,
chi mi spiega?
Ho due ali che non uso,
ci son nato e me le tengo
ma a che servono non so.
