could I even call it the desert?

Would a rose still be a rose
if it didn’t have thorns?
And if I weren’t afraid of losing you,
could I still call this love?

I due volti della luna

Se il deserto avesse l'acqua,
potrei mai chiamarlo deserto?
Se non ci fosse più niente da desiderare,
esisterebbero ancora i sogni?
Sarebbe ancora una rosa
se non ci fossero le spine?
E se non avessi paura di perderti,
potrei ancora chiamarlo amore?
