So often, when we talk to someone
we think there’s just a human body before us,
if even that,
but we’re wrong.
There’s so much more.
In those eyes looking at us
in those two chinks
which move before us
full of everything
there is joy, disappointment,
bitterness, experience,
there is suffering, endurance,
mirth and sadness,
there are stories to tell
to keep secret
to forget and to remember
and then tears
laughter
treasures.
Everyone
everyone everywhere
is a tiny
infinite universe.

Davanti a noi

Quando parliamo con qualcuno
pensiamo di avere davanti una persona,
e spesso neanche quella,
ma non è cosí,
c’è molto di piú.
In quegli occhi che ci guardano
in quelle due fessure
che si muovono davanti a noi
piene di tutto
c’è gioia, delusione,
amarezza, esperienza,
c’è sofferenza, sopportazione,
allegria e tristezza,
ci sono storie da raccontare
da custodire in segreto
da dimenticare e da ricordare
e poi lacrime
risate
tesori.
Tutti
tutti davanti a noi
sono un piccolo
infinito universo.
