I watered the jasmine
and in gratitude
it gave me a little of its scent
as a present.
I kept it with me
all night long
and when in the morning
it vanished,
I missed it
so I watered
the jasmine again.

Il gelsomino

Ho innaffiato il gelsomino
e per ringraziarmi
mi ha regalato
un po' del suo profumo.
L'ho conservato con me
tutta la notte
e quando al mattino
è andato via,
mi mancava
e ho innaffiato ancora
il gelsomino.
