The countryside is laughing
lit up with colours
and everyone notices
its fine appearance.
It is dressed in green,
the field in Spring,
with white
and red and pink buttons,
a blue blouse
sprinkled with yellow
and in its hair
garlands of stars and lights.
The day will run
announcing the birth of the Spring,
arm-in-arm with the countryside,
with a basket of scents
and tresses painted by the sun
and then there will be a party
decorated with flowers
and cobalt blue nights
with wind that bedews
the sea with gentle breaths
and the wayfarer that arrives
will take home a smile
and keep on dreaming.

La campagna in festa

Ride la campagna
di colori accesa
e del suo bell’aspetto
ognun s’avvede.
Ha la veste verde
il campo a primavera
con i bottoni bianchi
e rossi e rosa,
la camicia azzurra
di giallo sfarinata
e nei capelli ghirlande
di stelle e di luci.
Correrà il giorno
a raggiungere ogni casa
per dir che primavera è nata,
al suo braccio la campagna
con un paniere di profumi
e le trecce dipinte di sole
e poi sarà festa
ornata di fiori
e di notti cobalto
con il vento che irrora
di miti soffi il mare
e il viandante che giunge
riporterà a casa un sorriso
per continuare a sognare.
