Which is more beautiful,
an almond tree in the Spring
or a mimosa
at its most intense yellow?
Don't ask me
what I love most
because there isn't enough water
in the ocean
to satisfy my thirst
and the universe
isn't big enough
to fill up my heart.

E’ più bella la luna
o il sole?
Una notte di stelle
o un giorno d’estate?
Una goccia di rugiada
o un riflesso sull’acqua?
E’ più bello
il mandorlo a primavera
o la mimosa
nel suo giallo più intenso?
Non chiedermi
cosa amo di più
perché un oceano
non basterebbe
a placare la mia sete
e l’universo
a riempirmi il cuore.
